About this video

Attacking the turtle position to secure an arm triangle:

  1. Start with one knee up and the other knee down, on the same side as the knee that is down.
  2. Move your body to the side where your knee is down and insert your arms inside near the opponent's torso.
  3. Trap the opponent's ankle by passing your foot between their legs and then under their foot, placing your knee down.
  4. Ensure the opponent's foot is on top of your calf.
  5. Apply a seat belt grip by threading your arm under the opponent's armpit and meeting your hands together.
  6. Prepare to roll by placing your right leg down and bridging slightly to twist the opponent's knee.
  7. Roll to your right side, bringing the opponent with you, aiming to take the mount position.
  8. To finish the arm triangle, lean forward and squeeze. If the opponent doesn't tap, raise your hips, slide your knee on top of their hips, drop your hips down, and apply pressure to complete the submission.
