About this video
Passing the Reverse De La Riva guard to set up a North South choke involves the following steps:
- Begin by addressing the opponent's attempt to block with their knee. Place your left hand inside and over their knee.
- Your right hand, which was on their arms, pulls their knee down.
- Jump back with your left leg while simultaneously sliding your left hand and placing your other knee over their leg.
- Place your right hand on the ground to base out as you slide your leg and move your hand outside over their knee.
- Drop down, placing your neck on the outside over their knee.
- Jump and place your head in front of their knee, connect your hands together, and apply the top knee pressure.
- As the opponent tries to bring their knee back, you transition your body to a North-South position.
- Place your head down and connect your hands while bringing your leg down.
- Finally, pull and apply the North-South choke.
