About this video

Continuing from the Reverse De La Riva position, control is maintained by gripping the opponent's shin and lapel. To execute the pass:

  1. Stay tight to the opponent, extend your leg, step in, and apply pressure.
  2. Because you're holding the lapel, the opponent will feel restricted and unable to extend their upper body.
  3. As the opponent starts shifting to one side, perform a long step with your leg, using their momentum to pass to the other side.
  4. When you sense the opponent is losing their position and attempting to recover, release your feet.
  5. Take advantage of the momentum created by the opponent's movement to complete the pass.
