About this video
Executing a Berimbolo to Estima Lock when the opponent defends with a foot on the hip:
- From the Double Guard Pull position, grab the opponent's ankle and place your foot on their thigh.
- Kick your foot on the thigh while pulling up on the ankle and torquing the knee with your De La Riva hook to expose their back.
- Grab the opponent's belt and spin underneath them, placing your knee under their knee.
- Switch the hand from the De La Riva ankle to the opposite side pants grip.
- Drag the opponent's leg across your body while keeping your top leg circling in and the bottom leg pointing down to prevent them from entering the 50-50 guard.
- If the opponent tries to defend by placing their foot on your chest or belly, drive their leg into your belly and release the belt or pants grip.
- Slide your hand under their leg, establish a rear naked choke grip, and bring your other leg over their body.
- Apply hip pressure, squeeze, and secure the Estima Lock submission.
It's important to maintain control of the opponent's belt and prevent their leg from fully extending to avoid losing the opportunity for the submission.
