About this video
Executing a Rolling Estima/Tama Lock when the opponent rolls in the opposite direction:
- Start by bringing the opponent into the 70-30 guard position, controlling the cuff of their gi.
- As the opponent starts to roll, move away from them and capture their toes, placing them against your belly.
- Switch your grip on their toes as they continue to roll, anticipating that they may collapse to escape.
- Bring your leg over their rolling body and thrust your hips in to apply pressure on the foot.
- If necessary, you can increase the submission pressure by bringing your head down towards the mat.
- As the opponent's foot is under pressure, transition from the waiter sweep to the 70-30 guard, maintaining control of the toes.
- Sit up and immediately follow the opponent's motion as they fall, continuing to thrust your hips to finalize the submission.
