About this video
Transitioning from the waiter to the 70-30 guard, the focus is on securing a rolling Estima/Tama Lock when the opponent attempts to escape. To maintain control:
- Keep your legs tight and elbows close to your body, with your forehead touching the opponent's leg to secure the position.
- As the opponent tries to run away from the submission, catch their momentum and bring the leg that is under theirs over as they move.
- This movement helps to keep the opponent's leg bent, which is crucial for the Estima/Tama Lock.
- If the opponent doesn't submit, continue rolling in the same direction to complete the lock.
- Maintain the grip throughout the roll, bringing the leg up and back to secure the submission.
- If the opponent continues to roll, follow their movement to stay in control and finish the lock.
This technique is effective even against high-level competitors, as demonstrated in the Fight Grappling Super League.
