About this video

Initiate the first sweep or takedown from the dogfight position by coming up to the knees. The primary method to finish is by gripping underneath the opponent's foot, pulling it towards you, and pushing them down to their butt. This disrupts their base and makes it easy to put them down, leading to a favorable position for both the sweep and potential guard pass.

  1. From the dogfight, reach under and grab the opponent's foot, pulling it towards you.
  2. Push the opponent backwards by their chest to take them down to the mat.
  3. Hold the position momentarily, which counts as a guard, then back step to secure sweep and pass points.
  4. If unable to reach the foot because it's placed outwards, opt for the secondary attack.
  5. Grab the outside of the opponent's knee and drive forward with your head and legs, using a bulldozer-like motion.
  6. Maintain the knee position and run the opponent forward to finish on top.

Two variations to finish from the dogfight are highlighted: the first and preferred method is to grab the foot and push the opponent down, and the second is to target the knee and drive forward when the foot is out of reach. Both methods aim to complete the sweep effectively.
