About this video

Executing the Kiss of the Dragon from Reverse De La Riva:

  1. Start by establishing Reverse De La Riva guard, pushing the opponent away and gripping their foot.
  2. Go underneath the opponent's leg and push off the hip to raise your hips up, allowing you to get a deep grip.
  3. Encourage the opponent to step forward by pulling them towards you, creating momentum for the next step.
  4. Frame behind the opponent's knee and spin underneath them, bringing yourself through to the other side.
  5. Keep your knee on the same side and use it to push as you place your other hook inside.
  6. Once the second hook is in place, your knee can transition to the other leg.
  7. Kick the opponent forward, come up to grab the hip, and lift your elbow to secure the other side of the hip.
  8. Move your leg underneath the opponent's ankle and pinch your knee into their knee.
  9. Extend your legs, pull the opponent's hips down, and then you can start attacking the back.

Remember to lift your hips to get a deep grip under the leg, make the hook on the hip to control the opponent's movement, and use framing and spinning to transition to the back control.
