About this video
Executing the Kiss of the Dragon from Reverse De La Riva:
- Start by establishing Reverse De La Riva guard, pushing the opponent away and gripping their foot.
- Go underneath the opponent's leg and push off the hip to raise your hips up, allowing you to get a deep grip.
- Encourage the opponent to step forward by pulling them towards you, creating momentum for the next step.
- Frame behind the opponent's knee and spin underneath them, bringing yourself through to the other side.
- Keep your knee on the same side and use it to push as you place your other hook inside.
- Once the second hook is in place, your knee can transition to the other leg.
- Kick the opponent forward, come up to grab the hip, and lift your elbow to secure the other side of the hip.
- Move your leg underneath the opponent's ankle and pinch your knee into their knee.
- Extend your legs, pull the opponent's hips down, and then you can start attacking the back.
Remember to lift your hips to get a deep grip under the leg, make the hook on the hip to control the opponent's movement, and use framing and spinning to transition to the back control.
