About this video
Counteracting a strong whizzer from the dogfight position with a limp arm technique:
- Start by entering the underhook and raking the opponent's leg to come up to your knees.
- When the opponent applies a heavy whizzer, driving your face towards the mat, prepare to counter.
- Release the underhook and bend your arm so that your knuckles point towards the opponent's buttocks.
- Drop your shoulder, leading with your elbow, and perform a large circular motion with your hand to free your arm.
- Immediately transition to a back attack position as your arm comes free.
- Remember, the stronger the opponent's whizzer, the more effective the limp arm will be due to their forward momentum.
- After executing the limp arm, be ready to move quickly to either take the back or continue with a takedown.
- Practice the limp arm with exaggerated movements during drills to ensure effectiveness during live situations.
This technique allows you to counter a painful and controlling whizzer, potentially leading to a sweep or back take.
