About this video

From the top side saddle position, you have several options similar to those in a knee cut pass:

  1. If the top arm is framing into you, pull it across and step over to execute a darts choke. Be mindful of your chin and elbow position to successfully finish the choke.
  2. You can also execute a rolling guillotine or anaconda choke from this position. To do this, wrap your arm around the neck, trap your partner's arm, and roll into the choke.
  3. Lastly, you have the option to perform a simple knee cut pass. If you can get a hand around your partner's hip, move head to head, tighten the knee cut pass, and use this to pass your partner's guard.

Remember, the top side saddle position is very similar to a knee cut pass. If you move your back leg over, you're essentially in a knee cut pass position. Therefore, all the options available from the knee cut pass also apply here.
