About this video
From the pummel pass position, the following steps are taken to enter the saddle position:
- Get your knees in tight and turn your toes out, placing one hand on the mat.
- Threaten a knee cut to your left hand side. Do not worry about your arm position, just place both hands on the mat and give a hard knee cut in the direction of your left hand.
- This action usually prompts a response from your partner, causing their knees to move in the direction of your knee cut. This provides an opportunity to back step.
- Drive your knee across hard and immediately kick back into the saddle position. Ensure your knee is connected to your heel and be ready to observe your partner's reaction.
- Repeat the process: place your hand on the mat, put both hands on the mat, lift up and cut your knee hard across the line of your partner's hip. Do not pay attention to your arm position.
- Immediately back step as your partner's legs turn into you. Now, you are in the saddle position and ready to start attacking.
