About this video
Entering the saddle position from half guard:
- From half guard, if your opponent locks their legs below your knee or attempts to shoot an underhook, you can transition into the saddle.
- Post your hand in your opponent's armpit to slow them down.
- Place your other hand on the mat and move your head past your opponent's head.
- Kick your leg back so your knee comes behind your opponent's knee.
- Walk yourself back into the saddle position. This is a common and relatively easy entry depending on your opponent's reaction.
- From this position, you can observe your opponent's reaction and look for opportunities to attack.
