About this video

Initiate the same sweep by sitting up and switching the grip. When the opponent applies tight pressure to the chest, release the pressure on their leg and scoop down. Utilize the outside leg to push against the opponent's shin while scooping back to apply pressure.

  1. Close behind with the other leg and grip the lapel in the same manner.
  2. Kick the leg to break the opponent's posture and attempt a sweep. The opponent will likely place a hand on the mat to base out.
  3. Continue extending the leg and move to the opponent's back.
  4. If the opponent applies pressure to the chest to defend, place a hand on the mat and scoop backwards.
  5. Bring the leg in for a shin-to-shin contact and apply pressure back, which may cause discomfort to the opponent.
  6. Before the opponent can step back, lock with the other leg.
  7. Attempt to sweep by extending the leg. Ensure the opponent's knee doesn't pass over the thigh to prevent taking the back.
  8. Maintain hold of the lapel and extend the leg to encourage the opponent to naturally expose their back.

By following these steps, the opponent's back becomes accessible for control and subsequent attacks.
