About this video
Two types of two-on-one grips from the bottom position are discussed: the baseball bat grip and the elbow two-on-one grip.
- The baseball bat grip is a means of elevation. This grip is made by crossing the thumbs and securing the grip. The grip can be used to create elevation and off balance the opponent. While holding the grip, keep your elbows in and pull down for better control of the opponent's shoulder.
- The elbow two-on-one grip can be fed from many different positions. This grip is made by forcing the opponent's hand inside the center line and covering their wrist. The elbow is held in the palm of the hand, creating a push and pull tension. This grip provides a strong control and can be used to pass the opponent's arm by, create off balances, or pull yourself in for an attack. The key is to keep the wrist in line with the elbow, pulling the elbow while pushing the wrist in, and covering the wrist watch.
Both grips are highly effective for maintaining control and creating opportunities for attacks.
