About this video
Escape from a tight triangle choke when the opponent has broken your posture and moved your arm across:
- Focus on getting the opponent's hip from underneath you as much as possible.
- Use your outside arm to reach under the opponent's hip, keeping it under your shoulder, and pull towards you to create space.
- With your inside arm, reach for the collar on the same side, thumb forward, and secure the grip.
- While pulling the opponent's hip with one arm, walk your body to the opposite side of the head they are controlling.
- Continue to pull the hip across while simultaneously walking to the side, which helps pop the triangle open.
- If your posture is broken and the opponent's hip is under your elbow, lean forward and use your inside arm to step on the opposite shoulder.
- With the outside arm, go under the opponent's hip, make a grip, and pull across as much as you can, getting off your knees and moving to the side.
- As you pull the pants on one side and the collar on the other, walk in the same direction to create the necessary leverage to escape.
- If caught in the triangle, you can release the hip and push on the leg to create space and escape.
