About this video

Escaping back control when the choke is already applied involves a series of defensive and escape maneuvers:
  1. Initially, cross your hand over to the opponent's sleeve, fold it, and bring your elbow tight to your body to prevent choking yourself with your own fingers.
  2. Place your second hand above the opponent's elbow, near the tricep area, to create leverage and buy time.
  3. Focus on clearing the hooks, starting with the top hook as it's usually easier to clear.
  4. To address the heel hook, bring your leg towards your body, quickly release the opponent's hand, and go right to their heel.
  5. Keep the heel in position, extend your leg, and roll your hip out to escape, then immediately return to controlling the opponent's hand to prevent the choke.
  6. If the opponent's hook feels too deep, bring your knee to your body to bring the hook closer, then go for the heel.
  7. When committing to the escape, extend the leg and turn the hip facing down, rolling under the opponent quickly and with force.
  8. After rolling under, continue to move your hip out, aiming to recover to half guard on the other side.
Throughout the escape, it's crucial to commit fully to each movement and maintain control over the opponent's choking arm to prevent submission.
