About this video

Escape from an armbar when off-balanced and stacked:
  1. Secure the arm being attacked by creating a lock, holding your bicep over their leg to buy time.
  2. When the opponent uses both hands to try to break the lock, secure their sleeve on the same side as your head.
  3. Bring your toes close to your buttocks to prepare for a bridge. The grip on the sleeve prevents the opponent from posting their hand to stop the bridge.
  4. Execute a big bridge over your shoulder, looking in the direction of the bridge to enhance its effectiveness.
  5. Turn your hips to face down and step over the opponent's body.
  6. Kick your leg to help pull yourself up into the top position. If stuck, post your hand quickly to push yourself up.
  7. Once on top, maintain tight control and avoid leaning forward to prevent being off-balanced again.
  8. Sit back on your heel and bring the opposite leg up, keeping your weight centered.
  9. If the opponent attempts to switch to a triangle, exert pressure on their hands, reach across, and come off your knees to pass their guard.
