About this video

Executing a Darce choke when an opponent attacks with a Kimura from side control:
  1. When the opponent starts attacking the arm, hide the arm away to prevent the Kimura grip.
  2. The opponent needs to pull your shoulder off the ground to finish the Kimura, which requires them to lay their weight on you.
  3. Frame against the opponent's hip to prevent them from stepping over your shoulder.
  4. If you sense you're losing the battle to prevent the step over, use the same arm to go under the opponent as they step over.
  5. Push yourself to the opposite side of the opponent's body.
  6. Rotate your thumb to gain leverage and extend your arm.
  7. Sit up and trap the opponent's shoulder to transition into the Darce choke.
  8. Keep your elbow on the floor to create a frame and prevent the opponent from lifting your arm.
  9. As the opponent attempts to step over your head or far shoulder, continue to frame and prepare to move under them.
  10. Once you've moved under and to the side, extend your arm, sit up, and lock the Darce choke on the far shoulder, squeezing to finish.
