About this video

Escaping back control when the choke is applied involves prioritizing survival to avoid tapping out. To defend against the choke:
  1. Use the opposite hand to grab the choking arm with a one-inch fold on the sleeve, keeping the elbow in towards the body.
  2. Place the other hand above the opponent's elbow for leverage, bringing both elbows down to survive and buy time.
  3. If the bottom hook is too deep, focus on the top hook. Extend the leg and turn the hip out to start escaping the hook.
  4. Quickly release the hand from the sleeve and use it to help elevate the hips, ensuring the opponent's hip is lowered while yours rises.
  5. Perform a big step back to clear the opponent's knee and hop over, maintaining control over the choking arm to prevent the choke from tightening.
  6. Once across the opponent's body, avoid jumping around. Instead, stay on the body and move the hips all the way to the other side to complete the escape.
  7. Remember to keep the forearm blade off the neck and use leverage to pull the opponent's arm down, aiding in the escape.
Throughout the escape, it's crucial to manage the opponent's limbs and maintain a strong defensive posture to prevent the choke from being reapplied.
