About this video

Executing a tilt sweep to arm lock from bottom half guard involves the following steps:

  1. Secure a grip on the opponent's bottom pant leg and their wrist, pulling both towards your body.
  2. Pull yourself tightly to their leg to close the distance.
  3. Execute a kick with your leg while rotating your hips to initiate the sweep.
  4. Push their leg away and place your foot on the mat as you come up, maintaining wrist control.
  5. As you rise to your knees, pull their arm straight.
  6. Release the pant leg grip and place your hand on their elbow, pulling it in tightly.
  7. Post your free hand on the mat and push off your far foot to turn your hips back towards them.
  8. Step over their head with your leg to secure the arm lock position.
  9. Finish by crossing your leg over and applying the armbar.
