About this video

Executing an inverted arm triangle from the bottom half guard involves several steps:

  1. Start by controlling the opponent's sleeve and grabbing their far pant leg.
  2. Kick with your shin against their bicep to force their arm to the mat, making them post with their hand.
  3. As you drag their arm down, lift up on the pant leg to shift their body weight to that side.
  4. Underhook the posted arm and perform a hip escape.
  5. Shoot the leg that was on their bicep through to the other side to enter a triangle position.
  6. Immediately look to finish with an inverted arm lock or pass their arm over to secure the triangle choke.

This sequence allows you to transition from controlling the opponent in half guard to securing a submission with the inverted arm triangle or arm lock.
