About this video

Executing an arm lock from the bottom half guard when the opponent attempts a knee cut pass:

  1. Create distance immediately to prevent the opponent from securing an underhook.
  2. Grab the back of the opponent's elbow with the soft part of your hand, targeting the bony process.
  3. Pull their wrist into your armpit to straighten out their arm.
  4. Lock the position by pinching your elbows to your waist.
  5. Remove your foot from half guard and place it on their hip.
  6. Bring your knees out and pinch them together, positioning one in front of the opponent's shoulder and one behind.
  7. Lift your hips while pulling the palm of your hand towards your body to apply the arm lock.

This technique prevents the opponent from advancing their knee cut pass and secures a submission opportunity.
