About this video
Executing a wrist lock when the opponent attempts a knee cut pass from bottom half guard:
- Start by framing against the opponent's underhook attempt, securing the back of their elbow and pulling their wrist into your armpit.
- Remove your bottom half guard hook and place it on their far hip, while taking your top leg out and pinching their shoulder between your knees to set up an armbar.
- If the opponent puts their knee on the mat to bail out of the armbar, use the leg that's underneath their chin to lift their head and prevent them from rolling out.
- Secure their elbow with one hand and turn your hips towards their body, looking to control their hand.
- Fold their wrist towards you while maintaining control of the elbow, compressing their hand towards the elbow to finish the wrist lock.
- Keep the pressure with your foot under their chin to stop them from rolling out as you finish the wrist lock.
