About this video
From the bottom half guard, initiate an attack by transitioning from controlling the opponent's bicep to their wrist as they reach for your head or lapel. Post on their elbow and reach over to set up a Kimura grip.
- As you move to your back, kick your leg out over their head and thread your foot through to the far side, establishing a hook.
- Rotate towards their back, ensuring you don't just lift their arm upwards but instead bring it towards their back first, then up to secure the Kimura.
- While framing to attack, trap their wrist by sliding your hand from the bicep down to the wrist.
- Post on their elbow, slip your hand off their shoulder to behind their arm, and secure the Kimura grip.
- Prevent them from trapping your leg by kicking your knee shield leg out and stepping it over their back to hook their near side leg.
- Lift their arm while simultaneously bringing their hand towards their back to finish the lock effectively.
