About this video
Transitioning to Knee on Belly when the opponent attempts to face you:
- Start by establishing control from behind the opponent, grabbing their shoulder and hip.
- As you enter your knee to transition to the cradle position, the opponent will likely try to roll towards you to face you and recover guard.
- To prevent them from recovering guard, keep your hips attached to the opponent and follow their movement.
- Post your hands on the mat for support and tuck your knee in, keeping your foot very close to your hips to prevent the opponent from hooking or grabbing it.
- As the opponent turns, lean forward to make it easier to bend your leg and keep your heel close to your bottom.
- Follow the opponent's movement, maintaining pressure and control, and transition into the Knee on Belly position.
- Ensure your hands are positioned to allow you to 'walk' on them, as your legs will not bear weight during this transition.
By staying attached and following the opponent's movement, you can effectively transition to Knee on Belly and maintain a dominant position.
