About this video

Introducing an advanced back take technique that offers additional opportunities beyond the basic back take. This method involves a hip connection and cradle to secure the position.

  1. Start perpendicular to your opponent, using your shoulder and hip to establish position.
  2. Instead of a traditional seat belt grip, connect to your opponent's hip and behind, using a grip that feels secure.
  3. Keep your elbows pinched to maintain attachment without pulling your opponent.
  4. Use your foot to push and turn your body to face your opponent's rear, ensuring your knees are pinched for control.
  5. Push your opponent's leg down with your foot, allowing your other leg to hook inside.
  6. Keep the opponent's hip on top of you by extending your leg and maintaining a tight lock.
  7. With one hand, secure a grip on the opponent's belt or lapel for stability.
  8. Free your other hand to hook onto the opponent's shoulder, high near the neck, avoiding the material for a secure hold.
  9. Transition to a two-on-one grip on the shoulder, pulling and extending to off-balance your opponent.
  10. Simultaneously extend, pull the opponent slightly on top of you, and slide your arm through to secure the back, aiming to get a hook, neck grip, and hand grip all at once.

This technique emphasizes the importance of hip connection and precise grips to control the opponent and smoothly transition to the back.
