About this video

Attacking from the turtle position involves securing double under grips on the opponent's lapels, grabbing high near the collar bone to create tension similar to a Muay Thai clinch. Pull the elbows into the hips to maintain a tight connection, keeping the hip attached to the opponent's hip.

  1. With four fingers inside the lapels, pull down, ensuring the elbows are drawn into your own hips for strength.
  2. Step up and sit directly on the opponent's hip, replacing where your hip was previously attached.
  3. Create space by opening up slightly and leaning to the side you wish to insert your hook.
  4. Insert the hook on the side you're leaning towards and fall to that side at an angle to lift the opponent's weight off their hips.
  5. As you fall, aim to position the pit of your knee against the pit of the opponent's knee, adjusting your hips back to allow room for your leg to come up.
  6. Maintain the lapel grips, pulling down continuously, and ensure your weight is properly distributed to keep control.
  7. After falling, immediately adjust your hips back to clear your foot and set up high hooks for subsequent attacks.

This technique emphasizes the importance of grip placement, body positioning, and the strategic use of angles to control the opponent and prepare for further attacks.
