About this video
Counter the defense against a D'Arce choke with a Peruvian necktie when the opponent is in turtle position and jams your hand to prevent the choke:
- When the opponent closes their elbow and pins your hand to their body to block the D'Arce, use this position to set up a Peruvian necktie.
- With your hand pinned, slide your other hand through and connect your hands in a guillotine grip right in the middle of their neck.
- Execute the Peruvian necktie by sitting up into a squatting position.
- From the squat, step over the opponent's upper back with both legs, placing them on top of their back.
- If flexible enough, cross your legs over their back for additional pressure.
- Pull the opponent towards you and squeeze your legs while maintaining the guillotine grip to finish the choke.
- Alternatively, you can combine the squat and leg placement in one motion by leaning forward to make your legs lighter, then sitting down and placing your legs over the opponent's body to secure the choke.
