About this video
Executing a Darce choke from the turtle position when the opponent has a strong base and is resisting the palm-to-palm grip:
- Start with a palm-to-palm grip while the opponent is in the turtle position.
- If the opponent is strong and bases out, preventing the roll to side control, prepare to transition to a Darce choke.
- Unhook the opponent's leg with your own leg to set up the move.
- Simultaneously kick through with your leg and perform an uppercut motion with your arm to initiate the Darce choke.
- Ensure that the movement is quick and fluid, as it differs from the slower techniques practiced earlier.
- As you sit out and uppercut your arm through, aim to thread it deep enough to reach your bicep on the other side.
- Squeeze your bicep and press your ear close to the opponent's body to secure the position.
- Without clasping your hands, quickly secure your bicep and prepare to finish the choke.
- Prevent the opponent from posturing up by maintaining tight pressure with your bicep and ear.
- Once in position, grab your own bicep, place your other hand on the opponent's shoulder, and start walking to adjust the angle.
- Continue squeezing to tighten the choke and secure the submission.
