About this video

Executing a D'Arce choke when an opponent attempts a double leg takedown involves creating just enough space to insert your hand and transition to the choke. Here's how to perform this technique:

  1. As your opponent shoots for a double leg, you may not be able to fully sprawl. Instead, create a small gap to slide your hand through.
  2. Feign a guillotine attempt, which can cause the opponent, especially a wrestler, to continue with the takedown, feeling safe from the guillotine.
  3. When you clasp your hands as if going for the guillotine, quickly shoot your right hand through to transition into the D'Arce choke.
  4. As your opponent completes the takedown, drop to your side, ensuring your right hand goes under their neck.
  5. Secure the D'Arce by grabbing your bicep with the right hand and the opponent's back with the left hand.
  6. Squeeze tightly to finish the choke.

This technique is somewhat of a gamble, as you're committing to the submission in the midst of being taken down. It's not the safest option, but when timed correctly, it can be highly effective.
