About this video

Defending against a single leg takedown and transitioning to a Darce choke:

  1. When your opponent shoots for a single leg takedown, immediately work to get a whizzer to create space.
  2. Focus on getting your leg to the floor to prevent your opponent from completing the takedown. Use the whizzer and push their head to help achieve this.
  3. Once your foot is on the floor, transition your whizzer hand through to the other side of your opponent's head to prepare for the Darce choke.
  4. Secure a palm-to-palm grip with your hands and use this leverage to crank your opponent's neck and sprawl back, forcing them to the floor.
  5. After bringing your opponent down, cover their leg with your own and hook it with your foot to control their movement.
  6. Post on your free leg to create the necessary angle, then thread your arm through to secure the Darce choke by grabbing your bicep and their shoulder.
  7. Drop your weight onto your opponent and finish the choke by squeezing and applying pressure.

This sequence allows you to counter a single leg takedown attempt by creating space, establishing control, and finishing with a Darce choke.
