About this video

Executing an inverted triangle when the opponent defends against a Darce choke by pinning your arm:

  1. Start by attempting a Darce choke. If your opponent defends by pinning your arm to their body, this creates an opportunity for an inverted triangle.
  2. Grab their tricep with your free hand and slide your opposite knee through the space created by their pinned arm.
  3. Pull your elbow back to help create space and step your other leg through over their shoulder to initiate the triangle setup.
  4. As you step your leg through, fall to your side to help bring your leg over their back and lock the triangle position.
  5. Even if your hand remains pinned to their body, you can still finish the triangle by squeezing your legs together.
  6. If possible, clasp your hands together, pull your opponent towards you, and stretch out to tighten the choke and secure the submission.
  7. Ensure that when you lock the triangle, it is right on top of their shoulder for maximum tightness and effectiveness.
  8. If your opponent doesn't fall during the setup, you may need to sit back slightly to get your leg through and lock the triangle.

This technique takes advantage of the space created by the opponent's defense to transition into an effective inverted triangle submission.
