About this video
Taking the back of a standing opponent:
- Start with a body lock from behind your standing opponent.
- Place a hook behind their knee using your right leg. Ensure your partner is aware to avoid injury.
- Lean your head towards the right to apply pressure and torque on their knee, breaking their base.
- As they fall, aim to pull them to the other side, maintaining the body lock.
- Once on the mat, release the body lock and transition to a two-on-one grip, placing your foot on their hip.
- Ensure both knees land exposed to avoid easy counters.
- Control their leg to prevent their hips from moving over your leg, then place the top hook and transition it to the bottom hook.
- Connect the two-on-one grip and work for the top hook or place your foot on their hip.
- If the opponent lands high and you risk losing the position, switch from the body lock to grips with one hand on their shoulder and the other across their belly.
- Use the shoulder grip to push their hips back down, securing a better position for attack.
