About this video
Advanced back take when unable to place the hook or knee over the leg:
- Start in the same position with the same grips, but move your knees and hips slightly lower.
- Push up on your opponent's hips with your left knee to create space between their butt and heels.
- Use your right foot to hook under their foot and lift it, then swivel your left foot underneath to establish a strong hook.
- Move your right knee high and shift your head over your right knee to take weight off your left leg, making it easier to lift their leg and place your hook.
- Once the hook is in, fall to the side, connect the seatbelt, and block their hip with your knee if they try to move.
- Work on placing the second hook by hip escaping and stretching them out.
- Repeat the process: lift the leg, swivel the hook, and drop the knee back down.
Focus on simplicity: lift, swivel, and drop the leg to place the hook. Once the hook is in, proceed to take the back and secure the second hook.
