About this video
Armbar escape counter transitioning to back attacks:
- Start from the back control position. If the opponent begins to escape by turning their hips up, control their shoulder and armpit.
- If the opponent removes your hand from their head, maintain the grip on their shoulder. Rock forward and come up to your elbow, turning your pinky down to break their grip.
- With deep control of the shoulder, fall back down to your shoulder and place your right knuckles to their tricep. Twist your palm to get a deeper grip.
- Lock your left hand into your right bicep, forming a rear naked choke grip on their tricep.
- Uncross your feet and hook your left foot on their butt to push their hips over your right foot. This allows you to place your weight on your right knee.
- Come up to your right knee, maintaining the rear naked choke grip. Place your left knee on their belly and position your right knee behind their shoulder and head.
- Lean over your right knee and place your left foot over their belly. Fall towards that side, bringing your knee up to transition into the armbar position.
- If the opponent locks their hands, place your foot over their grip and break it. Finish the armbar by straightening their arm, either with knees pinched or transitioning your foot across.
