When unable to break an opponent's posture by applying pressure to their knee, consider the following steps:

  1. If the opponent's leg remains straight and you can't bend it, use both hooks behind their knees.
  2. Sit your butt to the mat, ensuring you move your hips far back to prevent their hips from going over yours.
  3. Incorrect method: Placing hooks and sitting without moving hips back, causing opponent's hips to land on top of you.
  4. Correct method: Place hooks, then move hips back so opponent falls into your lap.
  5. Alternative method: Use feet instead of hooks behind the knees. This allows you to kick yourself back, creating more space for the opponent to fall into your lap.
  6. For taller opponents, using feet behind the knees may be more effective to create sufficient distance.
  7. Once the opponent lands in your lap, immediately look for a two-on-one grip to start setting up a seatbelt control for back takes.
