About this video
Escape from one hook position to 50/50:
- Defend the seatbelt grip with both hands, ensuring a strong grip on the opponent's wrist with your right hand.
- Momentarily let go with your left hand and push down on the opponent's knee to help lift your hips.
- Use your right toes and knee on the mat to elevate your hips, aiming to get your butt over the opponent's leg.
- Place a hook behind the opponent's knee with your foot.
- Move your knee to the other side of the opponent's foot, using it to pull the foot towards you.
- As the opponent holds the seatbelt tight, bend their leg to make it uncomfortable, encouraging them to release the seatbelt.
- Once the opponent lets go of the seatbelt, lift your hips and place their foot across to transition into the 50/50 position.
From the 50/50 position, you can choose to disengage, attack leg locks, or perform a classic 50/50 sweep. The primary goal is to escape the back control.
