About this video
Classic escape from the knees with one hook in:
- Start in the turtle position with your opponent having one hook in.
- Immediately place your hip on the mat to avoid your opponent securing the second hook.
- Straighten your leg and rotate to your side, landing with your opponent still having one hook in.
- Fight the grip on your neck and control your opponent's foot.
- Begin hip escaping and place a frame inside to loosen the seatbelt grip.
- If your opponent tries to underhook and smash you, ensure to keep the space and place your knee inside.
- Use the knee shield to push your opponent away and transition to bottom half guard or another guard position.
- When on the seatbelt side, break the grip immediately. On the underhook side, focus on hip escaping and framing.
- Execute the technique quickly, as it will be a scramble in a live situation.
