About this video
Counter the opponent's clinch from closed guard by breaking them down with elbows out and knees to the chest, achieving an over-under position. To execute the throw off back take:
- Stretch the opponent out slightly while turning towards the underhook side, loading the body to pivot back the opposite way.
- Open the guard and turn the body, lifting the underhook and driving back to the opposite shoulder.
- Use the underhook to throw the opponent's arm by, turning back over the clinching arm.
- If the opponent's arm is not completely passed by, bring the head out and grab their far side lat.
- Straighten the bottom leg to knock the opponent off their base and immediately turn it into a hook.
- Continue hip escaping and turning to secure back hooks, maintaining the over-under position.
