About this video

Executing a double attack from the closed guard involves transitioning from a Kimura attempt to a triangle choke when the opponent defends the initial submission. Begin by pulling the opponent's elbows out and drawing your right knee to your chest to establish a clinch. Anticipate the opponent's attempt to posture up and use this to your advantage.

  1. Open the clinch and grab the opponent's wrists, transitioning to a Kimura grip.
  2. When the opponent defends by bringing their arm inside, use your bridging foot to hip escape and create space.
  3. Position your left knee against their collarbone, similar to holding a phone to your ear.
  4. Weave your foot to the outside of their shoulder, kick it straight, and pull them into a triangle choke position.
  5. If the Kimura grip is still intact, lean back and pull to break their grip. If the grip breaks, you can fully transition to securing the triangle choke.
  6. Adjust your position to become as perpendicular as possible, underhook the opponent's forearm, and finish the triangle choke.

This sequence offers a dynamic approach to attacking with a Kimura and seamlessly switching to a triangle choke when faced with resistance, maximizing the potential for a successful submission.
