About this video
Executing a secondary armlock when an opponent attempts to pull out of an armbar:
- Start by attacking the armbar with the forward motion, elbows out, knees forward, and a clinched position.
- Turn and bridge while grabbing the pant legs and bringing your head forward to finish the armbar.
- If the opponent pulls their arm out to escape, immediately pull your own arm out and start turning your hip away from them.
- As you turn, drop your knee to the mat and bring your shin down to the side of their head.
- Bring your free leg over their head to trap their arm and secure the secondary armlock position.
- Pinch your knees together tightly to prevent the opponent from pulling their arm out again.
- Finally, apply pressure to the wrist and drive your hips forward to finish the armlock.
Maintaining tight control and quick transitions are crucial to successfully securing the secondary armlock.
