About this video
Transitioning to a choke from the Windshield guard when the opponent starts to escape:
- Recognize when the opponent begins to walk their hips back and uses a stiff arm to create space, making it difficult to maintain pressure or secure a submission from the current position.
- Open up the opponent's lapel to prepare for the choke while maintaining control.
- As the opponent walks back and stiff-arms, slide your grip down the lapel while moving towards a north-south position.
- Transition into Knee on Belly as you continue to adjust your grip on the lapel, meeting the opponent's movement.
- Ensure your wrist is curled towards you and your elbow is positioned to drop down, which will aid in applying the choke.
- With your other hand, find the opponent's lapel and secure a grip.
- Drop your elbow and pull the lapel towards you to tighten the choke.
- Bring your head close to the opponent's head to finalize the choke, maintaining control throughout the movement.
