About this video

Executing an inverted sweep involves spinning on the back to transition into attacks, which can be either submissions or sweeps. This technique is particularly natural for individuals with a background in activities like dancing, where inverting and spinning are common.

  1. Begin by establishing a grip and breaking the opponent's grip, then thread your arm through while setting up your foot in their armpit, extending to create space.
  2. Attempt to sweep the opponent to one side. If they don't step out far enough and you can't catch their leg, maintain the extension.
  3. If the opponent postures up high, lift your hips significantly. This is crucial for swinging your leg around effectively.
  4. Use the foot in the opponent's armpit to step down and pull, which assists in lifting your hips. Position your other foot in their hip to initiate the sweep.
  5. Kick your leg all the way through the opponent's hip to complete the sweep.
  6. As you come up, you can transition into a leg drag position. Maintain control of the opponent's sleeve with one hand.
  7. Drive your heel back while using your free hand to push yourself up. Release the sleeve grip and push through to secure the leg drag.

This technique allows for a smooth transition from a defensive position to an offensive one, ending in a dominant leg drag position.
