About this video

Transitioning from Single X to the Waiter Sweep when the opponent is on one knee:

  1. Maintain the Single X guard with an overhook, knees tight, foot on the opponent's hamstring, and heel on the hip.
  2. Use the right hand to grab the back of the opponent's knee, turning it inward to lift their foot off the mat.
  3. Circle under the opponent's leg with the left hand and bring their leg up to your shoulder, pinning it with your head and shoulder.
  4. Switch the top hook to the opponent's hamstring and scoop under their leg with the right hand.
  5. Rotate to the right, kicking the left leg out in front while keeping the opponent's leg above the knee.
  6. Lock a figure-four grip above the opponent's knee, ensuring their foot points upwards towards your head.
  7. Keep the underhook to prevent the opponent from regaining their footing.
  8. For the sweep, either maintain the figure-four lock or unlock the legs to use the right leg as a pendulum.
  9. Swing the right leg to knock the opponent down to their butt, ensuring your legs are clear for the pass.
  10. Transition from the right hip to the left, securing an underhook on the opponent's head and controlling the shoulder.
  11. Work your way up, hook the opponent's leg with your left foot, back step out of half guard, and move to side control.

Ensure to maintain control and keep the action going, even when the opponent is not engaging, to successfully execute the Waiter Sweep and advance to a dominant position.
