About this video

Back take from the single-leg X guard when the opponent is sitting back on one knee:

  1. Start in the single-leg X guard position with the opponent disengaging by sitting back on one knee.
  2. Lift the opponent's leg onto your shoulder and secure an underhook on the back of their knee, pulling it towards you.
  3. Place your left foot on their hamstring. Execute the movement quickly, spinning underneath the opponent.
  4. As you spin, hook your right leg behind the opponent's leg and grab the back of their pants with your right hand.
  5. Use the hook to kick out, bringing their buttocks to the mat while keeping your leg flexed to prevent them from escaping.
  6. Immediately secure the seatbelt grip and insert the first hook.
  7. Ensure the top arm in the seatbelt grip is the bottom hand, allowing the bottom arm to be the top hand for choking.
  8. If the opponent breaks the grip, you still have the opportunity to choke with the hand over the shoulder.
  9. Keep your foot turned out and your ankle at a 90-degree angle to maintain control.
  10. After securing the seatbelt, insert the second hook to establish a strong back control position.

Remember to use your head, neck, and shoulder to pinch and control the opponent's leg, not just relying on arm strength. Keep the movement tight and fast for an effective back take.
