About this video
Executing the Leg Circle Hop Over Pass when the opponent counters by lifting their leg:
- Start in a low squat position with feet flat on the mat, controlling the opponent's collar and the bottom of their pant leg.
- Attempt to pinch your knees together and lift your weight up to circle your leg around for the knee circle pass.
- If the opponent lifts their leg to follow and counter your movement, preventing the circle around, do not kick back as this creates too much space and relieves pressure.
- Instead, when you notice the circle is not possible, hop over their left leg and back step to expose a leg drag on the opposite side.
- Drop your weight as in the previous step to secure the position and prepare to pass.
- Ensure that the motion is quick and fluid, without lingering when stepping the foot on the mat, transitioning immediately into the leg drag position to initiate the pass.
