About this video
Executing a Long Step Pass against a Leg Lasso from Reverse De La Riva:
- When applying pressure in Reverse De La Riva and the opponent transitions to a Lasso Guard, immediately turn the hand outward to prevent a tight lasso.
- Reach up to the opponent's knee, grabbing as high as possible for better control and to weaken their grip.
- With the opponent's wrist twisted and grip weakened, prepare to pass by controlling their collar and dropping your elbow above their arm.
- Execute a back step, keeping your chest close to the opponent's chest, and aim to land with your chest and hips tight against their side, near the hip.
- Push the opponent's leg across from their right hip to their left, maintaining tightness to prevent them from regaining guard.
- Once in position, work your way up to full side control, chest to chest, and if the opponent maintains their grip, break it to establish control.
Throughout the pass, ensure that your movements are tight and controlled to prevent the opponent from creating space and countering.
