About this video

Initiate a foot lock during a guard pass by going to the knees and attacking the opponent's leg. Block the opponent's pass and reach inside with the leg to trap their foot while transitioning into the turtle position with a solid frame.

  1. Allow the opponent to pass the guard while blocking their movement and reaching with the leg to trap their foot.
  2. Grab the opponent's thigh and establish the turtle position, creating a frame to prevent them from flattening you out.
  3. From this position, you can either wait for the right moment to act or immediately go for the submission.
  4. Place the trapped leg on your hip, ensuring a tight squeeze, and elevate your hips to apply the foot lock submission.
  5. Be prepared to either use your hands to secure the position or jump into place to finalize the submission.

This technique allows you to set up a foot lock submission while your opponent is attempting to pass your guard, giving you the opportunity to counter their pass with a submission attempt.
