About this video

Escaping the mount and transitioning to a footlock involves a series of movements to off-balance the opponent and secure control over their leg. Begin by bumping with the hips to create space and immediately grab under the opponent's armpit, extending the arms to prevent posture breakage.

  1. Bump with the hips to create an initial off-balance.
  2. Grab under the opponent's armpit and straighten the arms to maintain a strong posture.
  3. Quickly transition the grip from the hands to the foot, securing control over the opponent's leg.
  4. Choose a shoulder to roll over, which will position the opponent's leg under the armpit.
  5. Grab the opponent's leg and adopt a similar leg position as previously demonstrated.
  6. Shoot the leg across and block the opponent's thigh, then lift up to initiate the footlock.
  7. Lift the hips to further break the opponent's base.
  8. Reach and straighten the arms while maintaining the grip from the armpit to the foot.
  9. Squeeze with the foot for control and choose a shoulder to roll over, securing the opponent's foot in the process.
  10. Posture up, move into position, and execute the footlock finish.
