About this video
From the half back position, the following steps can be taken to execute the Twister and Banana Split:
- From half back, hoist your opponent higher so that your knee is below their butt. Triangle your legs and hook their bottom leg.
- Back away and swing your arm in, using both arms to put it to the ground. Your opponent's arm should be behind your back. Use ten fingers to pull in for the Twister.
- If you can't get the separation needed for the Twister, sit up and attack the Banana Split. Once the Banana Split is executed, you can then attack the Twister.
- If your opponent is playing tight and you can't get your arm around, grab inside the collar, pop up, take a step, and pull them into half back.
- Use your top leg to put it on the ground and shrink yourself underneath so your knee is behind their butt. Lock the triangle and lock out their bottom leg.
- Back away, swing around, and go for the Twister right away to join the submission.
- If you can't get your hand inside for the Twister, sit up, grab behind the knee, and finish for the Banana Split. If the Banana Split doesn't finish, drop your body on top of the arm, and then go for the Twister.
